Chef Jonathan Preskow's culinary journey is a tale of passion, determination, and a natural flair for the culinary arts. Born in South Africa and relocated to Canada at the age of six, Jonathan's culinary roots began to take hold through a variety of early influences. Despite pursuing an industrial design degree in college, he soon realized that his true calling lay in the world of culinary arts – a realm where, as he passionately believes, great food goes past the palate and becomes an artful balance between taste and visual delight. In his culinary journey, he discovered the profound truth that you eat with your eyes before it graces your palate. He approaches each dish as a canvas, meticulously crafting not just flavors but also igniting all the senses.
Jonathan's formal culinary education commenced at The School of Hospitality, George Brown College in Toronto, where he immersed himself in the Chef Program. Guided by an innate attraction to the classic art of French provincial cooking, he graduated with honors in 2005. Post-graduation, Jonathan delved into the dynamic world of full-service restaurants, diligently refining his skills and swiftly ascending to the role of Sous Chef.
Jonathan's success transcends his business endeavors, venturing into the realms of design and philanthropy. A skilled artisan, he personally designs and crafts proprietary charcuterie boards, and event props from his woodworking shop at home. Beyond the kitchen, Jonathan generously devotes his time and culinary expertise pro bono, actively contributing to fundraising efforts for his community.

Hanukkah, also known as the festival of lights, or Chanukah, is an eight-day Jewish celebration. Hanukkah is celebrated nightly with the menorah lighting, special prayers, and fried foods. The history of Hanukkah is that there was only oil to light the candles for one night, however the oil lasted for 8 days. Hanukkah commemorates the miracle of the oil.

At JP Fine Foods we pride ourselves on listening to our customers and doing everything that we can to bring their vision to life.
